If you've been immersed in drum & bass for a while, Miss Redflower is a name that surely resonates. Katharina Blum—better known as Miss Redflower—has been part of the genre's landscape with her signature mix of hard-hitting beats and emotive, melodic undercurrents since 2007. Originally drawn to the darker edges of drum & bass, her sound has evolved into a sophisticated fusion of atmospheric depth, poignant songwriting, and high-quality production that has come to define her music.

At sixteen, Katharina was deeply into hip-hop and rock, but discovering drum & bass opened the door to electronic music, drawing her into an electrifying new world. This passion led her to start DJing and promoting drum & bass events, organizing club nights in Dresden and later in Berlin. By the time she moved to Berlin in 2007, she had established herself as a skilled DJ and promoter, and her drive to create her own music grew even stronger.

Her first releases, like *The Butcher's Daughter* on Mindsaw Recordings and *Over Here* on Freak Recordings, quickly gained international attention. Even then, her love for melodic sounds and vocals was evident in tracks like *Here to Fly*, featured on a Knowledge Mag’s Mix CD (Issue 104, 2008). By the early 2010s, her style began to mature, weaving together melancholy soundscapes, powerful basslines, and sharp drums, as seen in releases like *Dessert*, a collaboration with Neonlight, and the 2017 *Oceanic* EP on Genome Records, where her music took on a gentler, more introspective tone.

After a challenging personal loss in 2017, Katharina took a creative hiatus, returning to her hometown to find solace and experiment with live instruments, vocals, and songwriting. This time of reflection sparked a powerful shift in her sound, leading her back to the studio to merge these elements into her drum & bass productions. Her 2020 comeback, *Conundrum*, released on Hospital Records, marked a fresh chapter of creativity and innovation, followed by *Reflections* on UTM Records in 2022 and *Future Memories* on her own newly found label Redflower Music.

Miss Redflower has grown into an artist known not only for her contributions to drum & bass but for her versatility and depth as a producer. With roots in underground club nights and an ever-evolving sound, she has quietly walked her own distinctive path in the world of electronic music. 

Formal training supports her work, including a Deutsche Pop Diploma in Audio Engineering and Music Composition and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Technology from the University of West London. Each release brings a new layer to her journey, blending technical sound design skills and emotional expression. Miss Redflower’s music opens a reflective space, where the heart of drum & bass is woven with personal stories and a willingness to explore uncharted sounds.
